Grace & Poise is the amazing combination of skilled that commands respects. They are something like an ‘X’ factor that is difficult to apprehend but exists. Those who have these characteristics seem authoritative just by their presence, exceeding confidence, and authority as they walk, talk and interact with others. They move and have mannerism that reflect grace and poise, respect and leadership. It is noticeable because it is rare. It is something that everyone wants but that nobody can quite grasp. We can identify it, but cannot fully describe it.

Grace and Poise is about the way one carry themselves and how they interact with others. Being quick-witted but classy and seems to be a by-product of these characteristics. Always in control and taking in command of every situation in a statesman like manner, and it is not only men that have this. The elegance and sophistication is present in woman too. It is as if they are on a fast track to royalty. It does not have to do with your physical appearance. Its almost as if they hand many lessons at a finishing school. There is an elegance and an air of control about these people. With grace of movement comes grace of character. Having a character that shows grace is believing the best of people, giving people the benefit of the doubt. Acceptance of people for who they are, not what you want them to be. Nobody is perfect. And if somebody claims to be, then they expose their imperfections in that very claim. The person who is full of grace has something special inherited in them. They make a person comfortable in their presence and makes others feel important and respected. We can all learn to be more graceful characters it just takes effort and practice. It is one of the greatest so called ‘soft skills’ to have in any interaction socially or formally in a business context.

The most important asset that grace brings with it is the connection with others, being open and gracious in accepting and elevating others. Closely linked to it is poise. Both together make average people into somebody that would be comfortable amongst royalty. People do not always remember what you say, but they remember how you made them feel. The intangible soft skills if enhanced and used correctly in the right settings will lead to more opportunities and greater success. We can learn these skills and find the key to a brighter future in the industry, it just again takes time and practice.




Grace and Poise is presenting your personal best to the world. It is important as it is a form of communication that tells people good things about you without saying. [i.e. she has composure, dignity and self-respect. Some are physically beautiful and attractive, and some might attract intelligent minded people]. A certain stance would make you seem more confident, attractive, smart, and successful. Always dress your best to give you the confidence and ready to take on the world!! Looking good does have a physiological effect and your body responds to your thoughts, that influences how you feel. And how you feel projects how you look!!! Learning to walk is also important to develop your grace and poise. It teaches you how to breathe, sit and use your body. It helps our self confidence and esteem. Awareness gives you a better understanding. For which someone to videotape the way you walk, talk, sit, laugh, eat and drink. The understanding will help you edit both consciously and subconsciously.

A good posture is the foundation of grace and poise. At your workplace if you sit at your desk for a longer period of time you are going to develop a hunch. To prevent it the posture brace is the best tool. But do not forget to do your core exercises too. People who exercise regularly do not seem to have a problem attaining a good posture and hence half the battle is won to achieve grace and poise. While walking, always keep your arms close to your sides in a relaxed way and avoid movements from your elbows. Never be in a rush for anything you do. Be always relaxed. If you are hurrying yourself for everything, it is probably due to poor time management.

Clothes are not the only covering we wear. Grace and Poise increases our beauty. Always smile gently and laugh softly. Grinning and mouth wide open laughter does not contribute to your appearance of grace and poise. Watch your hands always. Do not touch or fidget with everything, as it shows that you are not able to relax. Train yourself to keep your hands to yourself. People with grace and poise always have a deep respect for others and things around them. There will be times when you do not agree with someone, or things do not go as planned. Do not jump to conclusions. Listen to what is being said. Access the situation calmly before getting angry or defensive. Your grace and poise make others feel safe, secure, and comfortable in your presence. Always focus on the positive. Be thoughtful of others and how you can help whenever the need arises. When you help others, they want to help you in return. That’s the rule of reciprocity.

Be authentic, but not an open book. No matter how tempting, always avoid office and workplace gossip. Try to find the silver lining in all challenging situations. Get over difficult situations and move on. Don’t sweat the small stuff!! Take pride in how you look, what you do and what you say. Do your best each day. Brush up on your appearance and presentation skills. Consider yourself ‘on stage’ anytime you are around co-workers, clients, or employers. Your grace and poise will elevate you in the eyes of those around you. Proper grace and poise send a positive message since 90% of all communication occurs through body language and how you carry yourself.

No amount of high fashion can make up for a lifetime of poor grace and poise. Two important and distinct ways to learn grace and poise. One with your body, and two, with the way you behave. Learn these two sides of the same coin, and you will have heads turning wherever you are!!!!
